Each of the six category winners will get KES 200,000. The Safaricom Development Challenge Competition is a sequel to the Safaricom Appstar Challenge held in September last year and is part of an on-going commitment by the operator to help develop and nurture a profitable local apps industry for Kenyan developers. Aspiring participants have until 28 June to submit their entries, and those who are successful will be admitted into the programme in July. Winners will be awarded on 01 November.
